Such a great and fun wedding. So glad to be a part of it.
July Wallpapers

Well July is here and so are new wallpapers. And in the spirit of the 4th I’ve got Red, White and Blue versions for you to choose from. Or grab all three!
If you’re wondering what a Penny Farthing has got to do with July, keep wondering. But I will tell you how I came to the decision to create this month’s graphic. Basically my thought process went like this; July -> Summer -> Beach -> Home town -> riding bikes. This lead me to search for images of bicycles to base a drawing from, when Google images gave me an awesome picture of an old Penny Farthing. And July, July, July comes from one of my wife and I’s favorite Decemberists songs of the same name.
I was also very excited to use The Highway Typeface created by Dan Cassaro at Young Jerks. It’s a great typeface with lots of extras, plus he’s got great work on his site so go check him out.
Thanks for stopping by folks. I hope you enjoy this month’s free wallpaper. Download them below.
P.S. The iPad is sized for the new retina display. Enjoy, and have a safe and happy 4th!
RED: 1280x800 1440x900 1680x1050 1920x1200 iPad iPhone
My wife and recently visited some friends in Minneapolis, MN. That place is amazing! Everything is so green! Here is a little video I made using 5 second clips from our trip. Thanks to our friends Jesse & Derrin for showing us such a great time. Hopefully we can go back again sometime.
Something about printing your work feels so good. I’m really happy with the outcome on these postcards. Had to deal with a lot of revisions and last minute edits, but holding a finished product always makes it worth it. These will be going out to about 500 in the City of Newport Beach Water District.
June Wallpapers!!!

As summer quickly approaches everyone is planing the next big vacation. Maybe it’s to visit family, travel to a far away land or just get away from the daily grind. This month’s free wallpaper was inspired by the vacation of yester-year. As I Googled for the retro images used in the wallpaper I noticed a trend of vacationing and I wanted to convey that nostalgic feeling in the image.
I took a little different approach this month as I used the iPad app, iDraw almost exclusively to create the image. Other than all of the resizing for each device and screen size I created the image entirely on my iPad. The iDraw app is pretty amazing. You can incorporate textures, blending modes, layers and even import your own .otf and .ttf font files. And now iDraw has a desktop version available in the Mac App store for about $30. I haven’t used it myself but I would say it is probably a good, inexpensive way for someone who wants to explore vector graphics without having to pay a fortune for Adobe Software.
I hope you enjoy this month’s wallpaper as much as I enjoyed creating it. Download yours and tell your friends to get one for themselves as well!
